"Working with Chelsea on our interior project was a complete joy from start to finish. She instinctively knew what questions to ask and skillfully used our answers to articulate a brilliant and beautiful design plan – something we could not have done on our own. We were so thankful for the valuable guidance she provided on how to maximize our budget and appreciated her sensitivity to staying within budget parameters. She is a rare talent whose attention to detail carried through from the design choices (furniture, fabrics, bedding, paint, artwork & accessories), accurate measurements, and timely/thorough invoicing. She is also receptive and flexible when it comes to her recommendations – if we weren’t initially “in love” with something, she was more than willing to bring us alternate options. She does all this with such a positive, hard-working work ethic. We could not be more pleased with the end result and would recommend her to anyone."

-Leslie Feller, Yarrow Point

"Chelsea flat out rocks! She has the ability to know what I will love when I don't even know what I like. Time tested again and again, Chelsea would suggest something, and I would look at it quizzically but agree to try it. Then she would bring it over and I'd instantly love it or at least would love it after a day. Of course, most of the time she was so spot on that I was enamored and amazed that she could select the right item, placing, color, name it. And the woman can find amazing deals on items in ordinary places I would not even have looked. We admittedly went higher end than we ever have, but we are so thrilled that we did.
Okay, and then there is the sheer joy of working with Chelsea. She makes an otherwise tortious process into something fun and exciting--and I hate to shop, even for my own house.
Bottom line--if you want to be blown away by the finished product and enjoy the journey along the way, choose Chelsea (aka The Grey Door Design)!

"We found The Grey Door Design through a recommendation and it was a wonderful connection right from the start! Chelsea came to our project - which required furnishing 3300 square feet on a main floor - with ideas and energy for every room. We had an aggressive timeline and busy schedules - but she met with us regularly and listened to all our suggestions and requests and delivered a beautifully decorated home in a span of 5-8 months. For specifics, Chelsea advised on, helped select and choose design elements for furniture in our master bedroom, great room, dining room, kitchen, powder room and outdoor patio. Her attention to detail and customer service is exceptional. It’s been a real pleasure designing our home with Chelsea, we love the look she helped pull together, and we will not hesitate to work with her going forward."

-Brenda Pick, Bellevue

“I’ve had the pleasure of having Chelsea help with our family’s interior design needs for the last 7 years.  Chelsea has an amazing eye for detail and a great understanding of her clients design needs, their personal taste and helping work within their budget. She has helped us with everything from decorating ALL of our living spaces to decorating for the holidays.  Not only is Chelsea a talented designer with a fresh eye she is also an absolute delight to be around and we feel so lucky to have found her years ago!”

-Catherine Deasy, Clyde Hill

"Chelsea has been absolutely wonderful to work with and we could not be happier with how our home turned out! She took time to understand the look and feeling that we were going for, was able to put together things that we never would have found on our own, and helped us figure out where to spend a little more and where to spend a little less. We knew what we were going for, but we couldn't have gotten there without Chelsea's ability to see the whole house as a finished project. She was patient when we were having trouble deciding, but also has a gift for nudging us towards the decision that we would end up feeling good about. We love our home, and are so grateful for Chelsea's help making it feel and look exactly like we hoped it would."

-Cory Cuthbertson, Clyde Hill

"We recently contracted Chelsea for complete renovation of the first floor of our home. After three months, here's what we love about The Grey Door: Communication. We were always up to date on the status of the project, including when Chelsea, or other subcontractors, planned to arrive and when they left. Flexible and patient. Our project ran into a number of snags outside of their control, prolonging the renovation. Despite having other client projects on their plate, we never felt as though they were trying to rush through us to move on. Stewardship. Chelsea treated our project as if it were their own home. In her design, Chelsea seamlessly mixes high-end finishes with budget-friendly pieces to maximize her spend. Talent. Chelsea has an eye for every detail and happily takes feedback, adjusting as she goes. More often than not, her design proposals were spot-on – as if she knew exactly our style from speaking to us, even if we didn’t have a clue what it was. We couldn’t be more pleased with the results."

-Erin Anderson, Port Ludlow

"My husband and I hired Chelsea to design the interior spaces and recommend furnishings for the entire interior of our new home. The home is a different style and feel than we had ever lived in before. We have two college-aged kids, and we wanted a grown-up space that was warm and inviting for our guests, but still felt like home to our two kids during their regular visits. Chelsea nailed it in every way. There were many things we enjoyed about working with her, but the top five are: 1. She listened to us, took our feedback and incorporated it into her recommendations without any ego or preconceived ideas of what she wanted. 2. She was organized, prompt, efficient, effective and communicative - for months, we emailed on multiple topics each day. She was NEVER an obstacle - she kept us on our target completion date and kept the project moving. Our project lasted about six months. 3. She established a comprehensive budget at the outset, which we ultimately exceeded just slightly, BUT we did so knowingly and she called out the choices we made as those that were "investments" vs. "good values." We have a combination of both in our new space. 4. She created space for each of our college kids that they LOVE. This was so important to us - they have new and sophisticated grown-up spaces with touches of important mementos from their childhoods thrown in. 5. We are SO COMFORTABLE here. Chelsea always emphasized our new home is a living, functional space first and not a shrine. Her knowledge about products, finishes, fabrics, and combinations of all of those is so comprehensive. She recommended a lovely combination of objects and the result is an amazing space in which we enjoy spending time with our friends and family. I would hire Chelsea again without hesitation and have already recommended her to several close friends. I think anyone that can hire her is lucky to have her!"

"Chelsea at The Grey Door Design is consistently such a pleasure to work with and has an incredible eye for design. She has helped me with various projects from furnishing a home to design choices and decor, and every time she exceeds my expectations. I know I can always rely on her to go above and beyond for any project that I have. Not to mention she is a delight to work with and is timely with her work, which is very important in my business. I highly recommend The Grey Door Design!"

-Galya Kirstine, NWG COMPASS, Bellevue

"My wife and I recently moved into a new home and needed help redecorating and furnishing the place. Neither of us have any talent for such things and we feel very fortunate to have found Chelsea at The Grey Door Design. She did a terrific job helping us pick everything from furniture, to paint and wall paper to outdoor living items for the whole house. Chelsea is a very talented, organized and helpful designer that we would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone in need of a designer."
